WHAT'S THE COST OF BECOMING A MR POTATO FRANCHISEE?
The investment required to kickstart your journey as a Mr Potato franchisee varies based on factors like location and the size of your potato paradise. Typically, you'll need to budget between $150,000 to $450,000 to get started. DO I NEED TO WORK IN THE LOCATION MYSELF?
In the short term - Yes! We're looking for passionate Po-people who are ready to dive into the day-to-day operations of their potato haven. Our franchisees are required to be fully committed for at least 3 months, and after that, dedicate a minimum of 15-20 hours per week. Once you've smashed your way through this phase, you can apply to own a second Mr Potato location & become a multi-site owner.
CAN I SEE FINANCIALS?
Of course! As part of the application process, we'll provide you with a savory overview of the financials & including average sales figures & profit margins. However, as it relates to existing businesses, it’s confidential and therefore kindly ask our applicants to sign a non-disclosure agreement before we spill the beans.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO OPEN A MR POTATO?
The timeline to your potato dreams depends on various factors, such as site availability, the size of the restaurant fit-out needed, and external conditions, including approvals. Typically, you can expect a brand-new Mr Potato location to be up and running within 4 months of submitting your initial application. Occasionally, we also have existing, fully-grown Mr Potato locations available for sale, which can speed up your journey to becoming a proud spud proprietor.
DO I NEED PREVIOUS BUSINESS OR FOOD INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE?
While prior experience in these fields is not required, what you do need is an insatiable appetite for success, a deep affection for the Mr Potato brand and an unrivaled passion for your business. These attributes can be cultivated without any prior experience in food or business ownership. What's absolutely essential is a genuine dedication to delivering exceptional customer service, as this forms the cornerstone of becoming a triumphant franchise partner. Rest assured, we will equip you with all the tools, systems, and processes needed to propel you toward your business goals.
HOW MUCH TRAINING IS REQUIRED?
We ask all our partners to spend one month working full-time in a current location, unpaid. It's a great way to dive into our culture and team spirit!
